A few years past, I chanced upon a wondrous wormhole. I shall not reveal its precise locus, yet know that it lies deep within an ancient mineshaft. Through this celestial aperture I fashion genuine nineteenth-century tintypes from photographs of the present age—Digital Tintypes, if one must give them a modern appellation.
I convey your cherished likeness backward through time to the year of Our Lord 1851. There I transform it into a high-resolution optical negative of the finest quality. A black metal plate is prepared by the careful pouring of collodion, then rendered sensitive in a bath of silver nitrate. Within the dim confines of the darkroom the plate is exposed to the optical negative. The latent image is thereafter developed with the most exacting precision. Thus is born a tintype wrought by alchemy itself, returned through the cosmic gateway, and dispatched by post directly to your door. You shall receive an authentic, hand-wrought metallic tintype bearing an image of purest silver.
Embellished with those chemical artifacts peculiar only to the wet-plate process, each tintype stands utterly unique and archival—an heirloom destined to endure for centuries yet to come.
According to the number of petitioners who stand before you, the entire labour commonly requires three weeks or more for its completion. Should urgency press upon you, however, you may advance to the head of the queue by means of Rush Processing.
